Job Summary:


As Engineering Manager, you will be leading a team of developers, data analysts, quality assurance and domain experts. This team operates like a startup and goes from idea to production at an incredibly fast pace. The role requires you to work closely with design, product and the business to define the product requirements, roadmap and strategy. We are looking for a highly technical and effective team leader that can communicate strategically across functional lines and with stakeholders. You will be accountable for the technical output of the team, and responsible for defining work plans as well as mentoring and coaching engineers. These projects bring the best data processing tools and processes to users. This position is full-time and based in Palo Alto, CA.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead ideation, development, and launch of innovative products and services that delight customers

  • Define product strategy and roadmap, and create shared vision across the company by building consensus on priorities

  • Acquire and allocate resources

  • Manage personnel development

  • Managing advancement and deployment of a variety of technologies

  • Lead a team of engineers to design, build, test, deploy, maintain and improve technology solutions for new products and services

  • Lead technical discussions, be a subject matter expert, and have strategic influence

  • Be deeply technical and work closely with engineers to define technical architecture of products

  • Act as a technical advisor to project managers, engineers and business analysts

  • Rapidly solve problems and make decisions

To qualify, candidates must have: 

  • Software engineering and architecture experience is a plus

  • Passion for big data, new technologies, building products, and creating new businesses

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills

  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills

  • Experience with big data infrastructure and web applications

  • Experience with either consumer or enterprise applications in a technology company

  • Strong project management skills

  • Love creating things from scratch and operating in an ambiguous environment. Be driven and self-directed.

  • BA/BS in Business, Computer Science or related technical field

  • 7-10+ years of total work experience with 3-5+ years of experience managing a software engineering team
