As a Senior Product Designer, you will work closely with product management and engineering to create the user experience that will power the firm into the future and change the way we do business, enter new markets, and serve clients. You will be involved in every aspect of the product development process, from brainstorming the next great product or service to iterating on changes post-launch. You own the user experience for your product and team and will be expected to be fluent in all of the products design, including interaction design and visual design.  Primary responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the end-user experience including all interaction and visual design
  • Create wireframes, mock-ups, and visual and interaction design specs for web and mobile
  • Work closely with product managers and engineers to get features developed and launched
  • Assess and make necessary judgment calls between user experience and developer efforts
  • Design user studies and review analytics to determine how to improve the user experience
  • Define and implement innovative solutions for product direction and user experience.
  • Execute from concept to final deployment all design stages for the identified product.
  • Take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into something valuable and useful for product end-users
  • Design workflows that meet product specifications and which result in a positive user-experience
  • Work closely with product management and engineering to oversee the user experience from concept to deployment (and beyond)
  • Propose user interactions and visual design for a product (or suite of products)
  • Effectively communicate design concepts (leveraging sketches, story boards, wireframes, mock-ups, etc.)
  • Must be able to think strategically about product strategy and vision
  • Act as a business advisor to clients, product/project managers, engineers producers, and other project requesters on the most effective approaches and methods of design that will affect the end-user experience
  • Rapidly solve problems and make decisions
  • Strong influencing skills are required to effectively interact with other team members and internal clients
  • Excellent user research, interaction design, and visual design skills
  • Ability to relay visual specifications to engineering team (leveraging sketches, story boards, wireframes, process flows, etc.)
  • Experience in building and shipping applications or software
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to creatively solve problems
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with design/prototyping software
  • Passion for emerging technologies
  • Must be able to think strategically about design and understand and contribute to product strategy and vision 

To qualify, candidates must have:

  • Bachelors/University degree in design or related studies
  • 5+ years experience designing compelling user interfaces
  • Prior work in technology sector preferred
  • Proven experience designing for a global audience
  • Must have a portfolio featuring examples of interaction design work
  • Experience with front-end programming (must be able to code their own prototype)
