I am currently in a 6 month contract but willing to hear about other opportunities. Over 20 years experience as a professional software developer, including more than 5 years experience designing, implementing, testing and supporting Android applications for mobile platforms. Technical skills include Android SDK, Java, C++, C Javascript, SQL, REST, SOAP, JSON, UML, MVC, JUnit, OAuth. Non-technical skills include IPT Leadership , Requirements Management, Scheduling, Agile Methodologies with Scrum. I have held an active TS/SCI Clearance/SSBI. Debriefed in March 2014. I am the lead Android developer for LifePics. I am developing an SDK that allows apps to easily be created using the LifePics framework. It is available on GitHub. Apps I have written that utilize the SDK include Mike's Camera, MailPix Photo Print Elf (ship to home and store pickup) and Go Photo Prints. These apps are all available on Google Play. I was the product owner for the Sonic Drive-In Android Mobile App. This app provides customers with the ability to locate Sonic restaurants, purchase and redeem gift cards, send gift cards to other individuals and monitor and redeem restaurant specials and promotions. This app is available on Google Play. I conceived, developed and implemented a suite of workout applications. The apps allow users to create custom workouts, tracks and displays the users progress while performing a workout and displays the results of the workout. These apps are available on Google Play under Track My Laps and Track My Intervals.

Role Description

Conceived, developed and implemented a suite of workout applications. The apps allow users to create custom workouts, tracks and displays the users progress while performing a workout and displays the results of the workout. The apps store all workouts to the devices local storage so that they can be reviewed at any time. Free and paid versions of two applications are currently available in the Google Play Store. Significant Android technological features in the apps include:•Support libraries are used to implement fragments and action bars and maintain backward compatibility to Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).•Android Services are used to maintain processing if the application is minimized for any. The application status is reported in a notification which can be used to resume the app.•The applications use fragments to make the layouts flexible such that they have a split screen when run on a tablet and a single pane when run on a phone.•The applications use multiple resource and layout files in order to support multiple screen sizes and pixel densities.•The applications support both landscape and portrait orientations.•The applications use concurrency constructs such as Threads, Handlers and AsynTasks to perform all long running operations.•The applications use local storage through both shared preferences and the SQLite database.•Track My Intervals uses the location service to track and record the users location.
