Summer 2013
· Analyzed test measurements of new mixed signal systems for a $2 billion contract and created performance charts showing correlation to legacy systems. · Used VHDL and ModelSim to create test benches for ASIC chips to ensure the chips meets customer's specifications.
· Collaborated with 2 colleagues to file for an invention disclosure on Raytheon’s behalf.
· Received training certificate on Raytheon’s Six Sigma process.

PROJECTS & LEADERSHIP ROLES
ADVANCED MOTOR DRIVES
· Worked with a DSP based electric drive laboratory setup to drive a dc motor, permanent magnet synchronous motor, and alternating current induction motor using speed-controlled, current-controlled, and vector control (d,q) algorithms. · Used tools such as a power electronics drive board, D-Space controller board, MATLAB, Simulink and Control-desk for real-time programming control.

SOFTWARE-DEFINED RADIO WIRELESS CONTROL SYSTEM
· Team Leader of a group project with the goal of creating a hierarchical wireless network system in which sensors from heterogeneous networks communicate with each other via software-defined radio to communicate information to a host processor for data collection and display.
· Used tools such as Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP2) with an FPGA front end, ZigBee wireless measurement sensors, GNU Radio open source software, UNIX environment programming, C++, and Python.

 EMBEDDED SYSTEMS
· Wrote firmware code for the TI MSP30 microcontroller to interface with an LCD using serial peripheral interface (SPI).
· Programmed an iRobot Create mobile robot using the C programming language and cross compiling from Windows to Linux via SSH with the goal of traversing a physical maze, detecting objects on the ground, then exiting the maze from the point of entry.
· Challenges involved interfacing with the robot's built-in sensors, designing a data-structure based mapping algorithm, and optimizing the algorithm to account for sensor inaccuracies.

SENIOR DESIGN PROJECT ADVISOR
· Supervisor of 6 undergraduate senior design electrical engineering students on a human-computer interaction (HCI) project.
· Goal of project is to process kinetic signals from the human body to control a mobile radio wirelessly using LabVIEW as the interfacing software.
· National Science Foundation (NSF) funded project, Award Number: 1238918.
SENIOR DESIGN PROJECT AT FINAL YEAR OF UT AUSTIN
· Collaborated in a group of 5 engineering students with the goal of creating a fingerprint reading remote controlled door system.
· Established wireless communication between microcontrollers with serial interface programming to ZigBee transceivers to establish wireless communication amongst system components.
