December has been a crazy month. With the holidays keeping everyone busy and stressed, nothing has been more amazing than our nurses. It was challenging to choose just one; however, this month we honor Carla V., a Med Surg RN who is currently working with us in Alabama! Over the last two decades, Houston has silently grown into a diverse cultural and culinary destination attracting artists, chefs, and eccentrics to its humid borders offering low-cost living and freedom to be who you want to be!

In fact, Houston is the most diverse city in America! Houston is huge, it’s basically five cities surrounded by a giant freeway loop. Each area has a distinct cultural identity yet sharing many of the qualities that make up Houston. When people think of Texas images of cowboys, brisket, and football come to mind. These things still exist in fact they are alive and well in Houston but Houston is now home to large Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean, Latin, Indo-Pak, and African populations whose cultures have trickled into everyday Houston life!

Most healthcare providers introduced to the idea of travel nursing are enticed by the lifestyle and freedom available to travelers but getting several different licenses can be expensive and daunting.

Well, if you’ve read any of our latest healthcare blogs, you may have heard us mention the Nurse Licensure Compact States multiple times. This particular agreement lets any nurse with a license work in any affiliated state to the NLC. So if you have a Florida license, you can work in Texas.
