Voting for the 2016 SXSW PanelPicker is closing soon, and we need your help! You could make this an experience of a lifetime for us, and an opportunity for inspiration and growth for others.

What is PanelPicker?

For those of you who don’t know (it’s okay if you don’t!), the SXSW Panel Picker program gives companies an opportunity to submit ideas to be considered for panels & presentations at SXSW. An interactive conference held each year in Austin, TX that’s loaded with interactive events, music, film and education that inspires ideas and solutions for businesses and individuals alike. One of the really cool things about SXSW is they are social focused. So the community has a voice by voting for the sessions they’d like to see be a part of the conference. That community is you!

Our Submission: The ‘Tech Talent Wars’: How to Hire & Win in 2016

Questions:

  1. What is the most critical factor top tech talent looks for when searching for a new job?
  2. How can employers better communicate what they are looking for in new hires to ensure they secure the right fit?
  3. How can startups compete with the big players (Apple, Google, Facebook, etc.) when it comes to finding and keeping top talent? –

Right now in the white-hot world of tech, there is a proverbial ‘talent war’ going on – with no signs of slowing. From Google to Facebook to Apple to Amazon to the startup that just got infused with millions of dollars of venture capital, how to attract and keep the best talent has become a differentiator in which companies ultimately succeed – or fail.

This panel will delve into a candid look into the key factors top talent is ultimately looking for in their next job. Is money or culture a more important factor in joining a new company? Exploring how and why forward-thinking companies can build a culture where everyone can win in a hyper competitive technology-oriented economy – is imperative.
